Seward County and the City of Seward are also celebrating their 150th Anniversary along with the State of Nebraska. To commemorate these milestones, The Seward County Genealogy Society (SCGS) is honoring first families (settled in Seward County by 1867), pioneer families (settled in the County between 1868 and 1879), and century families (settled in the County by 1917) who have descendants still living in Seward County. Family history posters showing family trees, photographs of honored ancestors and living family members, photographs of land grant documents and plat maps, as well as photographs of other family memorabilia along with family history accounts have been prepared by participating families and will be on display.
Posters are 4′ x 3′ for easy viewing and reading. An example of a family poster is attached as a PDF for your review in the approval process. This poster was created in 2016 for our 4th of July Celebration in Seward. Currently we have between 10 and 15 posters in process for display and may have more by the scheduled dates of the event.
