The shadow of the Moon will traverse across the continental USA in about 90 minutes, from Oregon to South Carolina. The partial phase of the eclipse will begin at 11:33 AM, with the Moon gradually occulting the Sun over the period of 1.5 hours. During totality, the disk of the Sun will be blocked from view for 1 minute 54 seconds, starting at 12:57 PM (CST).

Why come Kearney to watch the eclipse? The city that offers the best balance of likelihood of clear skies and duration of totality. Kearney is positioned near Ravenna, NE who is on the line and duration is 2 minutes 35 seconds, only 5 seconds shorter than the maximum duration.
