Waterloo History Day

September 30, 2017

In conjunction with the State of Nebraska’s 150th Anniversary of Statehood, we are planning on celebrating our history as a Village. We will start our day off with a parade, including old tractors, floats, cars etc… ending with a car show in the afternoon. At a time yet to be decided, we will be having a historical celebration . This will be held in one of Waterloo’s churches and include: a 20 -30 minute documentary of the history of Waterloo. An unveiling of historical plaques. We are inviting some of the ‘old timers” from Waterloo as guests to sit and reflect back on their childhood memories when growing up in Waterloo. Historical items will be on display in the community room located at the Library, including a display of Native American pictures. Also, the Agnes Robinson Waterloo Public Library will be hosting a number of events beginning April and continuing thru September. Sampling of these events: Nebraska author presentations, Kids activities, coloring contests, and the Nebraska 150 Reading Challenge.
